Having participated in the Country Club beauty pageant at the age of 16 in 1994 and several others consequently, Pujita has sporadically engaged with the world of media and films. She has done work for television as an anchor and presenter. She co-anchored a popular quiz show for a regional channel, Gemini TV in 1995, worked as a news presenter for Doordarshan (National), and hosted various cultural programs for the regional network of Doordarshan as well. 
She has acted in ad-films, short digital films as well as feature length films. Her experience includes dubbing work as well as voice-over.

 

Prayogam (2011), in which she plays the female lead, won the Nandi award for the ‘best first film’ that year.
