"As an Indian classical dancer, I am trained in the art of storytelling. The language is specific and highly stylized. As a practitioner of ancient art, I do render the pieces I have inherited in the exact same way as part of a continuing tradition; paradoxically, as an evolving contemporary artist, I enjoy the process of tweaking, adapting and applying the tools of my inherited art to a more contemporary approach."

Pujita Krishna has an MFA in dance from the University of California (Irvine). She is a practitioner of Vilasini Natyam and Kuchipudi and also innovates movement while creating independent, original works.

She is a Doordarshan graded artist and a SPICMACAY empaneled artist.
